Charles III will be officially proclaimed king of Great Britain on Saturday

Charles III will be officially proclaimed king of Great Britain on Saturday, the Times reported.

The newspaper previously wrote that Charles III would be declared king on Friday.

“This is the day Charles will be officially proclaimed king,” the Times wrote.

The publication specified that the King and Queen Consort Camilla will return to London from Balmoral Castle on Friday. Charles III is likely to meet with newly minted Prime Minister Liz Truss around noon.

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, who ruled for more than 70 years, died Thursday in Scotland at age 96.
